Man Utd wins first friendly match

Owen scores winner vs Malaysia
Manchester United started their Asia Tour 2009 today at Malaysia against a Malaysia FA XI team, and to be honest it was a rather shaky start by the England champions, final score 3-2. Although United were leading 2-1 at half time, with goals from Wayne Rooney and Nani, and a goal back from Malaysia’s striker Yahyah, United were surprised in the beginning of the second half as the same Yahyah equalized.
It was only a true striker’s instinct from Michael Owen, his 1st match with the Red Devils, which saved United’s blushes. In fact the 2 goals United conceded was due to poor goalkeeping from both Van Der Sar, and then Foster who replaced him for the 2nd half, and some bad defending as well. Seems the boys are still in holiday mode :D
The positive points thou are that Rooney impressed during his play-time, before eventually making way for Owen, and the latter can still score goals; but bad points for the keepers, and for Dimitar Berbatov who missed some glorious opportunities.
United will have a rematch on Monday, since they were due to play in Indonesia on that day, but due to the recent bombings there they have canceled the trip and may be Malaysia XI will get chance for revenge ;)

i feel bad for farizul the keeper, that picture is everywhere. lol. well, at least he and the yahyah the scorer are getting some exposure. in fact, the whole malaysian team were pretty resilient.
