charity shield preview – manchester united versus chelsea

The Charity Shield might not be as important as a league game per se, historically it is a bit of an anti-climax and prove absolutely nothing about the destination of the Premier League title, but it is the customary curtain raiser to the Premier League and my balls are literally shaking with excitement here.
Some say, its just a Mickey Mouse cup, means nothing and its always the same old teams competing. I have to disagree with the last one. Sure, it is Manchester United versus Chelsea but both teams will be slightly different – tactic-wise.
United will be without their former talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo. Last season, the team was set up to support the aforementioned player and I’m curious to see how Sir Alex Ferguson will set his team out with the new formation/tactic that he mentioned to the press earlier this week. Furthermore between Dimitar Berbatov, Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen and Federico Macheda – who will start up top for United?
Carlo Ancelotti has also voiced his desire to use a new formation on Chelsea – his infamous “diamond midfield”. A great tactician and Italian, Ancelotti will probably implement a more patient and defensive system – something former manager Jose Mourinho received a lot of sticks for.
Who will win it? Both teams had a great pre-season, unbeaten. Although, Chelsea played against better teams than United’s pre-season opponents – Chelsea won the World Football Challenge beating AC Milan and Inter Milan. I say, nil nil draw – first to miss a penalty loss. I told you, anti-climax.
Stay tuned for Katie’s report on the DC United versus Real Madrid game at FedEx Field in suburban Maryland.

Nothing personal, Wllm. But image of quivering bollocks kinda made me throw up in my own mouth. Would do even if in that image they were attached to Ryan Giggs.
That said, I’m so amped for tomorrow that if I had bollocks they’d probably be doing a dance to rival Teddy Sheringham’s right now too. See this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4siZ6GM19Js
I think he may have picked up something that caused this to happen to his bits in the Danielle Lloyd era.
Charity Shield then off to Real V DC.
And the madness has begun….
who said anything about bollocks?
im not sure whether that video was funny or embarassing. its like watching pele’s impotency commercial but a lot more weird. that said, i will be keeping my eye on the ball.
