emmanuel adebayor faces two charges plus police caution

Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor faces two charges over the two incidents from last weekend’s clash against his former club, Arsenal.
1. Stamping on Robin van Persie incident could bring a three-match ban for Adebayor if found guilty.
An FA statement said: “Referee Mark Clattenburg has advised that he did not see this incident, but has confirmed that had he done so, he would have sent Adebayor off for violent conduct.”
2. Goal celebration could also bring another three-match ban.
Adebayor ran the length of the pitch to taunt Gunners fans at the away section where a steward was injured by a thrown object. The FA would need to set up a disciplinary panel to review the celebration.
If found guilty of both offences, the Togolese striker could be banned for a total of six matches. Adebayor could be suspended from Sunday’s Manchester derby at Old Trafford. He will also miss the Carling Cup tie with Fulham and a Premier League clash with West Ham on September 28.

Goal celebration was ridiculous. Finally saw the footage and the run down the length of the pitch took forever.
And reviewing the stamp, I’d say he knew what he was doing.
6 matches seems harsh. Plus he’s on my fantasy squad. Though would be nice to have him out for the derby this weekend. No Ade, No Tevez? City would have to resort to the other 4 quality strikers they’ve got waiting in the wings.
“Stamp” huh? We call it “stomp” in Yankland.
i believe he broke the record for the longest knee-slide ever.
