daniele de rossi in tears after siena fans song video

While the Premier League was buzzing about Emmanuel Adebayor’s confrontation with Arsenal fans, AS Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi was involved in a confrontation of his own against AC Siena fans in Sunday Seria A match which left the player in tears at the end of 90 minutes.
It was reported that Siena fans were singing a song about De Rossi’s father-in-law, whose body was found in south of Lazio shot in a suspected Mafia hit in August of last year. At the final whistle, De Rossi yelled back at a small section of the crowd before being restrained by teammates Philippe Mexes, Nicolas Burdisso, Marco Cassetti and finally Simone Perotta at which point the midfielder began to well up.
The President of Siena, Lombardi Stronati has publicly apologised to De Rossi in a radio interview, “De Rossi, to me, is a grand champion. He is a good human – he even signed a top for my children. I was told the motive for the reaction was for a foul on a player after the whistle had been blown. So yes, I am sorry. I will be active in ensuring that episodes like this do not repeat themselves. Siena fans were awarded for their supporting, and we will try to recuperate.“
Siena Coach Marco Giampaolo was quick to apologised too, “To De Rossi, I express my solidarity as a man and as a footballer what has happened.“

I saw this today. Poor guy. Nice to see his teammates rally around him though.
Just goes to show that Italian fans are much worse than the English. You definitely won’t see fans taking the mickey out of a player’s personal loss!
It was bad to do such thing against a player like rossi that supporter must be punishe
