Totally agree, as a referee I know that help is needed from technology and I'm hoping when Hackett goes in Jan and Mike Riley takes over we're in for a change at the way certain things happen. But I doubt it!

I'm annoyed at the decision to punish Sir Alex and then Ngog got a point for his team for diving!

And also annoyed as I got a letter today congratulating me on my recent referee exam - they'd spelt my name wrong! I feel so insignificant...

See, this is the knock ons with not governing football correctly.

If a ref could justify his decisions in game, then there would be none of this shit. Every week its some manager or other bitching about decisions which i totally understand. The way the press and referees association have blown this specific one up youd have thought Fergie had raped Alan Wiley. Pathetic all round. Next week it will be another manager...then another incident...then another offside...then another ball cleared off the line that was 6 inches over....on and on and on and on and on and.............

i must say it is the most boring bit about this sport.

All refs are inherently crap because they are humans. Time to let the robots help out.

Twitchy Chairmen aside, football managers at whatever level often pay with their jobs. Why should referee's be bullet proof with seemingly no accountability for match changing errors?
What we appear to have presently is some kind of half-way house where, good, bad or indifferent, the man in the middle gets hot and sticky for a couple of hours at the weekend, attends the occasional training course and ends up immune to criticism.

Sure, the very best Premiership managers, SAF and the myopic Arsene only "sing when they're winning" and squeal when they're not, but, the whole thing seems all a tad one-sided and ties in kind of neatly with a couple of recent conversation topics here.

Sr. Blanchette is a staunch advocate of technology and yours truly would quite like the men in the middle to explain themselves adequately post game. Why not combine the both?

For me it's plain wrong there will only ever be one villain of the piece.

I don't like where this is heading. Censorship of managers to criticize referees...where is the line of misconduct drawn?
